Who we are:
The Whistler Film Festival Committee consists of Executive Board directors and staff, appointed by the Executive Board. The committee meets as required to plan UBCP/ACTRA presence and events at the 4-day Whistler Film Festival, held annually over the first weekend in December in Whistler, British Columbia.
The Whistler Film Festival presents a selection of up to 90 fresh and innovative films from Canada and around the world, awards approximately $150,000 in cash prizes and commissions, and offers unique industry initiatives through the Whistler Summit and their Talent Programs which offer a full range of talent
and project development, market and networking opportunities for filmmakers.
Goals:
1.To continue the traditions that unite our community in attendance at the WFF including:
- Members Breakfast;
- Stars To Watch – A four-day immersion experience for four UBCP/ACTRA Member actors, all of whom are poised for international recognition with features premiering at the festival.
- Facilitate networking opportunities for our Members.
2. To advance the WFF’s intention to raise awareness for “gender equity and cultural diversity in media both on screens and behind the scenes.”
