Ultra Low Budget Program
In order to protect the health and safety of performers, UBCP/ACTRA has temporarily suspended the Ultra Low Budget (ULB) Program until the Motion Picture Industry has been given approval by the province to resume production.
The decision to suspend the program is being made to protect the health and safety of performers. The union is currently working with other unions and various motion picture stakeholders to develop a comprehensive set of protocols for a safe return to work. When completed, these protocols will act as a valuable resource for producers in developing their own COVID-19 safety plan. The provincial government will not approve the resumption of film production until these industry protocols are in place and approved by the Provincial Health Officer.
As the suspension will be in place until the resumption of film production has been approved by the province, there is no time frame for the program’s resumption. We recommend checking back here periodically.
If you have any questions, please contact our ULB Administrators at ULBProgram@ubcpactra.ca
When the program resumes your options will remain the same. See below for details:
The Union has an Ultra Low Budget (ULB) Program to meet any budget so that union members and producers can work together on low budget productions while protecting the rights of performers.
There are 4 different ULB Programs available:
|Please note the following types of projects do not qualify for the Ultra Low Budget Program, but may be eligible for the BC Indie Program (Details can be found in the BCMPA Appendix Q) :
