Explore the winners and star-studded moments from the 10th annual award ceremony

Vancouver, B.C. (November 20, 2021) – This year’s UBCP/ACTRA awards ceremony celebrated 10 years of showcasing top talents within its membership during a live streamed event that included a star-studded virtual red carpet, special guest appearances, six performance categories and the Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award. 

Award Highlights:

Beginning with a star-studded virtual red carpet hosted by Vancouver media mogul, Sabrina Furminger, the interviewees included fan-favourite Patrick Sabongui (FIREFLY LANE), actor and director, Jennifer Copping (DEBRIS), and the up-and-coming Eden Summer Gilmore (THE GOOD DOCTOR). 

The 2021 awards show was preceded by video messages from MP Jagmeet Singh, and Vancouver Mayor, Kennedy Stewart, who thanked UBCP/ACTRA members for their continued excellence in the performance industry. The show entertained with light-hearted comedy skits starring Catherine Lough Haggquist and also featured a heartfelt In Memoriam piece with songs and vocals by Indigenous performer Andrea Menard, accompanied by Michael Creber on piano. 

This year’s UBCP/ACTRA Award winners are:

Lead Performance, Female – Camille Sullivan – Hunter Hunter

Supporting Performance, Male – Hiro Kanagawa – Deeper I Go

Supporting Performance, Female – Eden Summer Gilmore – The Good Doctor – Parenting

Voice Performance – Brent Miller – Lego Ninjago – Ninjago Confidential

Stunt Performance – Yusuf A. Ahmed, Brett Chan, Andrew Chin, Aliya Iskakova, Jennifer Li, Derick Vizcarra -Kung Fu– Pilot

The Lorena Gale Woman of Distinction Award was presented to Candus Churchill

“For the tenth year in a row this awards show has given us the opportunity to come together as a community to celebrate the extraordinary individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring their exceptional talent, emotion, and innovative storytelling to our screens,” says Ellie Harvie, UBCP/ACTRA President. “It is truly my honour to recognize each and every nominee and to extend my sincerest congratulations to the winners tonight.”
