We are investing in your future.

The UBCP/ACTRA Member and Dependant Scholarship Program helps to make sure you and your family have the means to pursue your education goals.

Two Scholarship Programs for Members and their dependants have been created by the UBCP/ACTRA Scholarship Committee. These scholarships will help UBCP/ACTRA Members and their families pursue education and professional development to further their career goals or get retrained to transition out of performing.

The Member Scholarship will contribute funding to Full Members in pursuit of educational and/or professional development or career transitioning.

The Dependant Scholarship will contribute education funding to eligible dependents of Full Members.

Spring Submission Deadline: March 13, 2020
Fall Submission Deadline: October 2, 2020

Member Scholarship

UBCP/ACTRA will award funding, to a maximum of $5,000 per Member per submission period, to eligible Full Members to enhance their education, professional industry skills or assist with career transitioning. Programs which assist the member in continuing to develop their careers, whether directly through performer training, retraining or through training in other fields in order to supplement their income will be considered.
Be aware that you may only be approved for a portion of the amount you are requesting. For example, if you are applying for a $5,000 scholarship, you may be approved for any amount between $0 and $5,000.

Priority consideration will be given to members who wish to broaden their skills within the film and television industry.

Career transitioning means a Member is moving on from their performing career for one or a number of reasons including but not limited to injury, lack of work, age, industry changes, technology changes etc.
Scholarships are awarded based on eligibility, financial need and merit.

Any Full Member, in good standing for 5 (five) years, with UBCP/ACTRA (BC Branch) may apply for assistance.

You must reside in the BC/Yukon region in order to apply and be awarded funds. For example, if you are a UBCP/ACTRA Member but reside full-time in Toronto, you cannot be considered.

The applicant must demonstrate financial need.

In the case of members wishing to transition to a new career, priority will be awarded based on length of membership within UBCP/ACTRA.

Any incomplete applications will not be considered
